Thoughtful Easter Gifting (PSA: it's not all about chocolate!)

Thoughtful Easter Gifting (PSA: it's not all about chocolate!)

Ok, so I know Easter gifting isn't for everyone and that's totally fine by me. I mean, sometimes it can all get a bit much and thoughtful gifting can tend to go out of the window when it comes to this one. After all, the classic Easter egg has been bringing joy to the nation for an extremely long time.

But as we all start to consider more and more where we spend our hard earned cash, perhaps those of you who do like to treat your loved ones to an Easter gift are thinking of alternative ideas this year?

Well my friend, you have come to the right place as we have curated an amazing selection of handmade gifts that will be sure to inspire you to ditch the eggs this year and spread some spring joy.

Here's a few of our favourites, all made by some very talented UK based crafts folk, of course. Oh, and don't worry, there is still some chocolate in there... I'm not a complete maniac!

1. Bee & Butterfly Friendly Wildflower Seed Bomb Kit

Wild flower seedbomb kit - butterfly and bee friendly

Our bee and butterfly friendly wildflower seed kit contains all of the things you will need to make your own seed bombs including clay, potting discs and a mix of 100% native annual and perennial bee friendly UK wildflowers. Simply make your seed bombs then throw or sow on a bare patch of soil and watch them grow!

What I love about this kit is that the whole family can get involved as there is enough to make 20-30 seed bombs (please supervise your little ones though, obvs!) making it an excellent value gift.

2. Glass Art Card

Daffodil glass art card

These beautiful glass art cards come in several designs but the daffodils are definitely my top choice for Easter.

Due to the making process, every piece of glass will have a slightly different arrangement of flowers so each one is totally individual. They are often framed and as they're made from coloured glass, they will never lose their colour or fade so they can be enjoyed forever!

We've recently welcomed these beautiful cards back to the shop. I'm not sure why they ever disappeared to be honest as you guys love them. They are a lovely way of letting someone know you're thinking of them without spending a fortune - a card and a gift in one!

3. Potted Wooden Daisy

Wooden daisy decoration in a terracotta pot

These are one of my absolute fave new gifts we have for 2022! Beautiful laser cut, hand drawn and hand-painted favourite flower stems stood in a natural terracotta pot. A keepsake and a friendly bloom to give a little sunshine and cheer! Did you know the daisy symbolises innocence, purity and new beginnings?

We have a few designs available, but the daisies seemed the most appropriate for Easter. The daisy comes as a single stem or this triple one with a cute wooden 'with love' flag.

Such an original gift... and who doesn't want flowers that last forever?!

4. Little Birds DIY Decoration Kit

DIY paper birds craft kit spring birds

These adorable little birds give me all the spring feels!

Each pack makes six hanging little birds in three colour combinations and they are super easy but super satisfying to make. Once made the display opportunities are endless and not just for spring - they'll bring joy all year round.

This is a great option for anyone posting gifts as they are flat packed, perfect for an easy letterbox gift.

5. Chocolate Message Bars

handmade chocolate bar with yellow and pink sprinkles, three mini eggs and the words Happy Easter in white chocolate letters

As promised, here's the chocolate fix for all you chocoholics out there - I see you!

These fun handmade message bars are a lovely small biz alternative to your mainstream eggs and they are a best seller in our Devizes store. We have lots of phrases available and we've topped up with a load of your fave hot chocolate spoons to melt into hot milk - it always amazes me how popular these are all year round.
